How To Descale A Dishwasher For Improved Efficiency

Date: 07-03-2019

Like any piece of equipment in your business, if you want your dishwasher to function at optimal performance and keep dishes clean, you have to maintain it by performing a descale every 6-8 weeks or more frequently if required.

Scale can effect the efficiency of how your dishwasher operates as it can cover the elements and wash jets of the dishwasher. This will diminish the wash temperature and agitation leading to dirty dishes. If left untreated, the long-term damage of scale could lead to costly dishwasher repairs.

To remove scale, we recommend a product by True Blue called SCALE OFF – a high performing descaling agent that cleans lime scale, rust and dulling from hard surfaces such as dishwashers. Simply follow the instructions below, or watch the video, to descale your dishwasher for improved efficiency.

BEFORE YOU START

  • Read the label directions and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of chemicals prior to use
  • Wear personal protective equipment as per the SDS such as safety glasses and suitable gloves when handling chemicals
  • NEVER MIX CHEMICALS
  • Turn OFF the chemical dispenser
  • Empty the dishwasher
  • Follow all dishwasher manufacturer instructions
